Del Obispo Elementary, located in the historic city of San Juan Capistrano, reflects the benefits of blending old with new. Our faculty represents experience and new perspectives: we have teachers who opened the school and some who are in their beginning years of teaching.

Dedicated in 1977, Harold J. Ambuehl Elementary School is situated in a rustic location on the bank of San Juan Creek, surrounded by open fields and equestrian riding stables. Historic landmarks throughout the community, such as Mission San Juan Capistrano and the Los Rios Historic District, provide reminders of Early California.

Grades: Preschool through 5 Kinoshita Elementary opened in September 2000 and serves preschool-through-fifth grade students. Kinoshita is adjacent to the San Juan Capistrano Community Center/Sports Park Complex, the Boys and Girls Club of Capistrano Valley, and Marco Forster Middle School.

Located on 170 acres of pristine grounds, Rancho Capistrano and its Spanish architecture provide reminders of the rich cultures within our historic community. Its rolling hills, open fields and nature trails allow us to implement a hands-on education right in our own back yard and integrate fun into the learning experience with swimming, hiking, fishing tournaments, and other outdoor activities.

San Juan Elementary School will be a challenging and innovative learning environment where students achieve high academic standards; exercise good character; celebrate diversity; and where families, staff, and community members are actively involved inspiring students for continued success.

Our school staff joins with our parent partners to ensure that the campus and school programs exemplify the heart and soul of the middle school philosophy. We are committed to providing a program designed to academically challenge our students, while supporting their successful transition between elementary and high school.

JSerra High School is a new private Roman Catholic high school in South Orange County. Tim Busch, co-founder of St. Anne School in Laguna Niguel, a K-8 private Christian school, organized a group of parents and business leaders in South Orange County as Founders for JSerra High School. Their concerted effort has been focused on establishing a private Roman Catholic high school that will ultimately house 1,800 to 2,000 students.

Junipero Serra High School is an alternative high school located in San Juan Capistrano adjacent to the old mission. It serves students in grades 9-12 who reside in Capistrano Unified School District attendance boundaries. Our student population comes from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Junipero Serra’s English Language Development program serves a small percentage of limited-English students.
